It’s very important to get your thoughts out.
I would know. I’m one of those bottled-up types, and when something’s bothering me I’ll be in an eerily great mood for days, and then I’ll just sink into the lowest rut. I’ll turn into a Squidward Tentacles for a week.
I started keeping a journal last year to help out with that. I love my journal and it works wonders, but now there’s something better.
It’s called 750 words. Everyday, you’re encouraged to type 750 Words or more, which is approximately three pages. It’s a totally private thing, you can even lock your writing with a password (like a journal!) and you rack up points for writing everyday.
It relieves the mind, I promise you. On top of this, they have this cute little statistics page in which their word processor scans the words you’ve typed. It tells you how you’re feeling, what you’re concerned about, and your mindset while writing. It’s amazing how accurate they are and they give me revelations about my day.
I write in the morning with a cup of tea. When will you?
